A Fantastic First: The WSYMCA Winter Carnival

The West Suburban YMCA kicked off a brand-new tradition this past weekend with our very first Winter Carnival — and it was a spectacular success! Over 500 people filled the Wells Ave Y, enjoying a fun-filled evening of games, prizes, delicious food, and community fun. View our Facebook Album.

Families explored a mix of classic carnival games like Ring Toss, Hole in One, and Box-a-Ball, all of which challenged players’ skills and rewarded their efforts with tickets. Kids eagerly collected those hard-earned tickets to trade in at the prize table, choosing from an assortment of fun goodies to take home.

In addition to the traditional games, families took on larger-than-life inflatable games, including the Zero Gravity Chamber Throw, a 15-foot Soccer Velcro Game, a Shoot Out Game, and a thrilling Inflatable Obstacle Course — perfect for kids (and a few parents!) to burn off some energy.

To keep everyone fueled for fun, there was plenty of cotton candy and popcorn, plus delicious food options from the food truck parked right outside, making sure no one went hungry during the festivities.

A special thank you to Representative Greg Schwartz for joining us and showing his support for the Y and our community. Having local leaders be part of events like this helps highlight the importance of community spaces where families can gather, play, and connect.

With such an amazing turnout and positive energy, it’s clear the WSYMCA Winter Carnival was a hit — and we can’t wait to make it an annual tradition. Thank you to everyone who came out to make our first Winter Carnival so special. We look forward to welcoming you back for more family fun at the Y soon!
