You may have noticed some exciting changes happening outside the Church Street Y — our expanded and adaptive playground is under construction! This new space will be a vibrant destination where kids of all abilities can grow, learn, and connect through outdoor play.

But we’re not done yet.

To cap off this incredible project, we’re planning to add something truly special — a brand new splash pad! Imagine the joy of little feet running through jets of cool water, giggles echoing in the summer sun, and families spending quality time together making memories. More than 2,000 of our youngest members and program participants are under the age of 10, and this will be a game-changing addition to their YMCA experience.

Every drop counts, please donate today.

Why a Splash Pad?

As summer temperatures continue to rise, families are searching for safe, fun, and accessible ways to stay cool. The splash pad will be that place — a refreshing oasis for YMCA families to gather, laugh, and play. It will:

  • Provide a safe and inclusive water play area for all children, including those preparing for swim lessons
  • Elevate our childcare and camp programs with new sensory and developmental experiences
  • Offer splash pad hours for families to enjoy together
  • Encourage outdoor physical activity, confidence-building, and pure joy!

One parent put it perfectly:

“Having a splash pad would mean so much to our family because it would add a whole new layer of excitement and sensory play to our child’s outdoor experience. Especially on hot days (of which we’ve had SO many already this summer), it would be a refreshing oasis where fun meets development.” -Katie Murphy

Another parent shared:

“As a parent, I am so excited about the new outdoor space because it will provide my family a place to play - not only during preschool, OST, and camp, but also in the in between moments - like in between the end preschool for my son and the end of Blue Waves practice for my daughter.” -Amy Fabiano

“We have experienced firsthand that splash pads are a great way for kids to have fun and be exposed to water play, while building confidence and working through childhood fears of swimming. The splash pad will be instrumental for the Y to gain exposure and confidence as they build up to swim lessons and more in the pool.”  -Preschool Parent

We're So Close — And Every Drop Counts

We’ve set out to raise the last $30,000 of our fundraising goal during the month of August. Your gift will help us close this final gap and ensure that children at the West Suburban YMCA have a place to cool off, play, and grow all summer long.

This is more than just a splash pad. It’s an investment in healthy childhoods, family togetherness, and joyful outdoor play.

Will you help us bring it to life?
