WSYMCA Achieves Nationally Recognized Praesidium Accreditation for Excellence in Child Safety
The West Suburban YMCA (WSYMCA) has been awarded Praesidium Accreditation® by Praesidium, the leader in abuse risk management. Praesidium Accreditation® is a prestigious honor that publicly demonstrates the organization has worked to achieve the highest industry standards in abuse prevention.
To achieve Accreditation, the WSYMCA underwent a rigorous process to implement Praesidium’s Accreditation Standards focusing on eight primary operational areas: policies, screening and selection, training, monitoring and supervision, consumer participation, internal feedback systems, responding, and administrative practices. Praesidium then verified the WSYMCA’s successful implementation of these standards. The West Suburban YMCA will be accredited for three years, and during this time will commit to uphold fundamental organizational values and stringent safety practices that demonstrate our commitment to protecting those in our care from abuse.
Praesidium Accreditation® provides solid proof of sound risk management practices, and the honor distinguishes the WSYMCA from others in their industry. "We are honored to receive Praesidium Accreditation, a distinction that reflects the West Suburban YMCA's unwavering commitment to protecting those in our care," said Jack Fucci, CEO of the West Suburban YMCA. "This achievement is a testament to the dedication of our staff and the culture of accountability we have built across our organization. It reinforces our belief that safety is not negotiable—it is fundamental to our mission, and the trust families place in us. While this accreditation recognizes the work we have done, it also strengthens our resolve to remain vigilant, transparent, and proactive in creating safe and welcoming environments for all."
