Society of Lies by Laura Ling Brown
đź—“ Tuesday, January 27 at 12:00 PM
📍 Wells Ave Y

Society of Lies follows sisters Maya and Naomi as they navigate the pressures of the elite Princeton University where secrecy and status rule everything. When Maya returns to campus for a reunion and to see Naomi graduate, she instead discovers that her sister has died under suspicious circumstances. Though officials call it an accident, Maya becomes convinced something darker is at play. The story moves through different timelines and perspectives, revealing how Naomi became entangled with an exclusive social club that Maya herself once joined—and possibly an even more secretive society within it. As Maya investigates, the novel explores themes of privilege, race, ambition, and the lengths people will go to in order to belong, blending mystery, emotional depth, and sharp social commentary into a tense, dark-academia-style thriller.

đź—“ Tuesday, February 4 at 12:00 PM
📍 Wells Ave Y

The Keeper of Happy Endings by Barbara Davis intertwines the lives of Soline Roussel, a Parisian bridal designer whose magical gowns were said to bring lifelong happiness, and Rory Grant, a young woman in 1980s Boston coping with her own heartbreak. After losing her loved ones and her shop during World War II, Soline leaves her past behind, but decades later Rory rents Soline’s former boutique and discovers a box of letters and an unworn wedding dress that leads her to Soline. As the two women form an unexpected friendship, their intertwined stories—told across war-torn Paris and modern Boston—explore grief, healing, and the surprising ways hope and second chances can reenter a life.

Bring a friend, your thoughts, and your appetite for good conversation (and snacks!).
