Dance for a Cause Raises Spirits—and Over $1,000—for LIVESTRONG at the YMCA
On Friday evening, April 4, the Wells Avenue YMCA came alive with music, movement, and meaningful connection as more than 40 participants gathered for Dance for a Cause: A Dance Party to Benefit LIVESTRONG at the YMCA. This high-energy mega group exercise class wasn’t just about getting your heart rate up—it was about giving back.
Decked out in their grooviest '60s through '90s dancewear, participants brought the decades to life as they danced their hearts out in support of cancer survivors. The vibe was electric, with YMCA instructors leading the charge through decades of iconic hits that had everyone moving, grooving, and smiling from start to finish.
Thanks to the generosity of attendees and supporters, the event raised over $1,000 for the LIVESTRONG at the YMCA program. This evidence-based wellness initiative helps cancer survivors regain physical strength, build emotional resilience, and rediscover a sense of community in a supportive environment.
From themed costumes to energetic routines and community camaraderie, Dance for a Cause was a beautiful reminder of the power of movement—not just to strengthen our bodies, but to uplift others.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended, donated, danced, or helped spread the word. Together, we made an impact far beyond the dance floor.
