West Suburban YMCA Receives $90,000 Grant from Cummings Foundation
The West Suburban YMCA (WSYMCA) has been awarded a significant grant of $90,000 from the Cummings Foundation. This grant, distributed over three years, is part of the foundation’s competitive $30 Million Grant Program, which selected WSYMCA from a pool of 715 applicants. This award underscores the YMCA's impactful contributions to the community.
The grant will be used to support financial aid for children with childcare vouchers, ensuring they have access to essential programs such as:
- After-School Programs: Providing a safe, supportive environment for children during after-school hours, fostering learning and growth.
- Preschool: Offering early childhood education to prepare young learners for future academic success.
Jack Fucci, President and CEO of the West Suburban YMCA, expressed gratitude for the grant, stating, “We are deeply honored and grateful to the Cummings Foundation for their incredible support. This grant will significantly bolster our efforts to provide vital services to children in need, ensuring that financial barriers do not prevent them from accessing high-quality care and enrichment opportunities.”
The Cummings Foundation’s $30 Million Grant Program aims to support a variety of causes, particularly those enhancing community well-being. The West Suburban YMCA’s commitment to serving the community is well-aligned with this mission, and the grant will enable the organization to further its reach and impact. The support from the Cummings Foundation highlights the valuable contributions of the YMCA and its positive influence on the lives of individuals and families.
