Family Camp 2025: A Weekend to Remember at Camp Frank A. Day

August 14-17, families came together at YMCA Camp Frank A. Day for our annual Family Camp—and what a weekend it was! Nestled on the beautiful shores of Quacumquasit Pond in East Brookfield, MA, families enjoyed three nights of laughter, adventure, and quality time outdoors. 

From the very first night, the excitement was contagious. We kicked off the weekend with an opening campfire—complete with songs, s’mores, and starry skies—to set the tone for the fun ahead. Throughout the days, families had the freedom to choose their own pace: dive into a full schedule of camp activities or simply relax “among the trees” and “on the shores.” 

Weekend Highlights 

• Waterfront fun: Canoeing, kayaking, paddle boarding, fishing, boat rides, swimming, and even water skiing made the pond the place to be. 
• Creative sparks: Arts & crafts and hands-on projects gave kids and parents a chance to show off their colorful sides. 
• Active adventures: Families tried their hand at archery, jumped into games like tether ball, frisbee, and volleyball, and even took part in high-energy all-camp events like Family Carnival. 
• Evening traditions: Each night, the community came together for special programs before gathering once more around the fire pit to share stories and soak in the magic of camp under the stars.

And for parents who wanted a little time to themselves, our Camper Care hours for school-aged kids provided just that—whether it was sneaking away for a quiet paddle or taking a peaceful hike through the woods. 

Memories That Last 

Family Camp is all about connection: families connecting with one another, kids connecting with new friends, and everyone connecting with the timeless traditions that make summer at camp unforgettable. Whether it was calling dibs on the top bunk, catching the first fish of the day, or simply laughing together over a meal in the dining hall, the memories made this year are sure to last long after the tents come down and the gear is packed away.
